My Top 5 Ways To Calm Your Nervous System Even When Life Is Going 100 m.p.h.

I have a confession.

I read people’s posts,

I listen when they ask questions, and

So if you feel like you’re the only person trying to figure out

How to deal with crazy hormones and crazier people

If you should try medication or not

Why you suddenly feel anxious out of the blue for no reason

How to stop people-pleasing your head off

And on lord… the overthinking,

you’re 100% NOT the only person *|FNAME|*.

From politics to parenting, A LOT is going on and unless you are taking time to rest,

eat well, and calm your nervous system,

you're going to feel stressed and overwhelmed.

But how do you find time to do that when you’re trying to work,

get your kids from A to B on time,

and take care of that stack of bills, the laundry, and make dinner?

Let’s keep it simple.

These are MY TOP 5 WAYS to calm your nervous system - even when life is going 100 mph.

  1. BREATHE ON PURPOSE - This doesn’t mean stopping to sit and breathe. This means paying attention to your breathing while you fold laundry or run errands. Make it a long slow exhale and a slow inhale. Exhale more than you inhale.

  2. MOVE YOUR BODY - Pilates, lifting weights, dancing, even a five or ten-minute walk a couple of times a day makes an enormous difference. Extra points if you focus on your breath while you do it!

  3. CROCHET - Crochet a long single chain over and over. You don’t have to make anything out of it unless you want to. The repetitive motion is magic!

  4. CLEAN - Honestly, vacuuming and sweeping my floor does wonders when I feel anxious, and it takes one more thing off my list of things to do.

  5. TALK TO YOUR COACH - Finding the sneaky, stuck thoughts that are keeping you anxious and doing the same things over and over helps you choose new ways of thinking about your fears, problems, and how your body feels. When you think differently, you feel differently.

If you’re ready to find out how coaching will help you

lower stress and anxiety

increase your confidence
