You know that thing you’ve been wanting to do, but you just can’t say yes
because (insert random untrue thought here).
Booking the flight,
Quitting your job and starting a business,
Asking your boss for a raise or a promotion, or
Making more time for yourself.
Whatever it is that you want to do,
Even when you really want to do it,
You come up with reasons to say no,
You think you’ll freak out and throw up on a plane, so you don’t fly.
You say you’re not professional enough, so you don’t level up.
You think you’re mean for saying no, so you never have the time for what you want to say yes to.
Part of you knows that if you just weren’t so anxious and self-conscious,
you'd already be on the flight, talking about your new job, and feeling excited about your life.
That authentic part of you.
It’s the part that knows what you want,
What you’re great at,
And what to say and do.
But instead of listening to that real version of yourself,
you believe the louder thoughts because they feel scary.
That’s the thing about anxious thoughts.
They aren’t the truth.
Once you don’t feel anxious,
Start noticing what you say that isn’t the total truth.
What feels safe but wrong.
Imagine yourself holding boundaries, speaking up,
and doing the things you’ve been putting off.
You can talk to me about all of this on a consultation call this week
and hear more about What I Learned about Myself from a Photoshoot in this week’s podcast.
Talk to you soon.

P.S. Your life beyond stress and anxiety begins with a decision. You can decide now to change how your body feels and how you respond when you're anxious, so anxiety loses its power. The question isn't, “Am I ready?” The question is, “Have I decided to be ready?”
P.P.S. Be sure to check out Episode 75 of the More than Anxiety Podcast to hear more about Letting Go Of Negative Thoughts So You Can Be Your Authentic Self wherever you listen. While you’re there, take a quick minute to leave a review and follow so you don’t miss a beat and help others find the podcast as well. Thanks!
