Elite Athlete Mental Performance Coaching

Master pressure. Build confidence. Perform at your best when it matters most.

You train your body every day. But who's training your mind?

The difference between good athletes and great athletes isn't physical; it's mental.

You can have all the talent in the world, but if you choke under pressure, overthink before competition, or can't bounce back from a bad performance, you won't reach your potential.

That's where I come in.

I'm Megan Devito, an age-group and high school swim coach for 15+ years and a certified life coach. I teach elite athletes the mental skills to perform at their best when the stakes are highest.

This isn't sports psychology. It's mental performance coaching.

And it's designed for athletes who are serious about winning, not just physically, but mentally.

Who This Is For:

This program is for elite competitive athletes who:

✓ Are physically talented but struggle mentally under pressure
✓ Overthink before competitions and can't get out of their own head
✓ Lose confidence after a bad performance and can't reset
✓ Compare themselves to other athletes and feel behind
✓ Want to master the mental game, not just the physical one
✓ Are committed to a full year of mental training

Who you are:

✓  High school athlete competing at a high level

✓  College athlete (D1, D2, D3, NAIA, club)

✓  Post-collegiate or professional athlete

✓  Any sport: swimming, track, soccer, basketball, tennis, golf, gymnastics, wrestling, etc.

What you're NOT:

A casual recreational athlete

Someone looking for quick fixes

An athlete who's not ready to commit to 12 months of work

This program is for serious competitors who understand that mental training is just as important as physical training.

What We Work On Together

Over 12 months, we'll build the mental skills that separate good athletes from great ones:

Pre-Competition Mental Preparation

Learn how to calm your nerves, get into the right headspace, and show up ready to perform, no matter how high the stakes.

You'll master:

  • Pre-competition routines that work

  • Breathwork and nervous system regulation

  • Visualization and mental rehearsal

  • How to manage adrenaline (not eliminate it, use it)

Emotional Regulation Under Pressure

Stop letting nerves, frustration, or anger sabotage your performance. Learn how to stay calm and confident when it matters most.

You'll master:

  • How to calm yourself in 90 seconds or less

  • Managing competition anxiety

  • Staying focused when distractions are everywhere

  • Controlling your emotional response to mistakes

Confidence That Isn't Outcome-Dependent

Build confidence that doesn't disappear after a bad race, game, or performance. Trust yourself regardless of results.

You'll master:

  • Internal vs. external confidence

  • Self-trust and self-belief

  • Overcoming imposter syndrome ("I don't belong here")

  • Separating self-worth from performance

Mental Reset After Setbacks

Learn how to bounce back quickly from losses, bad performances, injuries, or disappointments. Resilience is trained, not inherited.

You'll master:

  • The 24-hour rule (how to process failure without trash-talking yourself.)

  • Growth mindset after setbacks

  • Learning from mistakes without dwelling on them

  • Coming back stronger after injury or time off

Managing Comparison & Competition

Stop comparing yourself to other athletes. Focus on your performance, not theirs.

You'll master:

  • Healthy competition vs. toxic comparison

  • Staying in your lane

  • Competing without losing yourself

  • Using competition as motivation, not intimidation.

Focus & Concentration

Train your ability to focus on what matters and block out distractions, internal and external.

You'll master:

  • Staying focused

  • Ignoring the scoreboard/clock/crowd

  • Staying present, one play, race, or hard practice at a time.

  • Refocusing after mistakes

How the Program Works

This is a 12-month mental performance coaching program designed to build sustainable mental skills, not quick fixes.

What's included:

Weekly 60-Minute Sessions

We meet once a week during daytime hours with flexible scheduling around your training/school. (Yes, you can get a school excuse.)

Sessions are over the phone or Zoom.

Monday-Friday, 9 am-3 pm EST

Text Access Between Sessions

You don't have to wait a full week if something comes up.

Text me before a big competition. Send a voice note after a tough practice. Get real-time support when you need it.

Personalized Mental Training Plan

This isn't cookie-cutter. We'll build a plan specific to:

  • Your sport

  • Your competition schedule

  • Your mental strengths and weaknesses

  • Your goals

Pre-Competition Preparation

Before big competitions, we'll do specific mental prep:

  • Visualization sessions

  • Nervous system regulation

  • Confidence building

  • Race/game plan review

Post-Competition Debriefs

After big performances (good or bad), we'll debrief:

  • What went well mentally

  • What to adjust next time

  • How to reset and move forward

Progress Tracking

Every 3 months, we'll assess progress:

  • What's working

  • What needs adjustment

  • Where you're growing

  • Where you still need support

Why 12 Months?

Mental skills take time to build. You didn't get physically strong overnight and you won't get mentally strong overnight either.

Here's what happens over 12 months:

Months 1-3: Foundation
We build your baseline mental skills and establish routines. You're learning the tools.

Months 4-6: Application
You're applying the tools in competition. We adjust based on what works and what doesn't.

Months 7-9: Integration
The skills become automatic. You're not "trying" to regulate your emotions, you just do it.

Months 10-12: Mastery
You're performing at your mental peak. The skills are locked in. You're competing with confidence and calm.

This isn't a 6-week course. It's a full year of mental training that transforms how you compete.

Why Work With Me?

I've been coaching competitive athletes for over 15 years.

I've seen physically talented swimmers fall apart under pressure. I've watched athletes with less talent outperform their competitors because they were mentally stronger.

The mental game matters.

And I know how to teach it.

What makes me different:

✓ I'm a coach, not a therapist. This isn't talk therapy. It's mental skills training. We build tools you can use immediately.

✓ I understand competition. I coach high school swimmers. I know what it feels like to stand on a pool deck and watch an athlete choke. I know what mental skills actually work in the moment.

✓ I work during the day. You don't have to squeeze sessions in after practice or on weekends. We meet when it works for your schedule (9am-3pm EST M-F).

✓ I've been where you are. I struggled with overthinking, self-doubt, and pressure. I know what it takes to train your mind.

✓ I bridge sport and life. The mental skills you learn don't just help you compete, they help you navigate school, relationships, and life.

Ready to Master Your Mental Game?

Before we start the 12-month program, we begin with a Boundaries & Balance Audita 45-minute session where we:

✓ Assess where you are mentally
✓ Identify what's holding you back
✓ Map out what mental skills you need most
✓ Decide if we're a good fit to work together

This isn't a sales call. It's a real coaching session where you'll walk away with clarity, even if we don't work together long-term.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I'm in high school. Can I do sessions during the school day?

A: Yes, if your school allows it. Many athletes do virtual sessions during study halls, free periods, or lunch. I can also send school absence notes for each session. Let's talk about your schedule and what works during an audit.

Q: I'm in college. How does this work with my training schedule?

A: College athletes often have the most flexible schedules. We'll find a consistent weekly time that doesn't conflict with practice, classes, or competitions.

Q: Do my parents need to be involved?

A: No. This is YOUR coaching. Sessions are confidential. However, if you want your parents involved (or if they're paying), we can include them in progress updates every few months.

Q: What if I can't afford $1000/month?

A: I offer payment plans. We can structure monthly payments that work for your family. Let's talk during your audit.

Q: What if I have a bad season and want to quit?

A: Mental training is most valuable when things are hard. That said, if you're genuinely not a fit, we'll have a conversation. I'm not here to force anyone to stay. But I will challenge you to push through discomfort because that's where growth happens.

Q: Can I do this if I'm injured?

A: Absolutely. Mental training during injury is some of the most valuable work you can do. We'll focus on mental resilience, staying confident, and preparing for your comeback.

Q: What sports do you work with?

A: All sports. I coach swimming, but the mental skills are the same whether you're a swimmer, runner, soccer player, basketball player, golfer, gymnast, wrestler, or any other athlete.

Q: Do you work with professional athletes?

A: Yes. The program is the same whether you're in high school, college, or post-collegiate/professional.

You've spent years training your body.

Now it's time to train your mind.

Let's build a mental game that matches your physical talent.
